Doug,
        I've been to 2 Tech Conferences.  It's a somewhat subjective judjement 
as to
whether it's worth attending.  I found the "technical" side to be a bit thin.  
It is a great
place to see what your fellow /400 shops are up to, though.  If you haven't 
been to
one before, you should try to attend at least one.  You'll encounter some new 
ideas,
some IBMers you can ask questions of, and a break from the "everyday."
