Matthias, It can. There are a couple of parameters in the user profile. I don't know the keywords off the top of my head, but the owner for created objects (OBJOWN????) should be set to *GRPPRF and the group profile's authority for created objects (it's right after the object owner parameter on the prompt display) should be set to *NONE. The owner of the program will then be the group profile.
