It doesn't _adopt_ the authority of the group profile.  However, if the user
profile that compiles the program specifies that the default owner of
created objects should be the group profile (on the DSPUSRPRF command,
OWNER(*GRPPRF) ), then objects created by that user will be owned by the
group profile.  Consequentially, any user profile that is a member of the
group will have *ALL authority any objects that is owned by that group.  

That's still probably more authority than is necessary for day to day
operations, but you're way ahead of where you were with *ALLOBJ on every
profile.
