I do know of one good college that is training AS/400 programmers, 
but we don't even get a chance at them.  Microsoft (for their AS/400 
integration) and IBM take them before the rest of us get a chance.  
The school is Mankato State University in Minnesota - about 80 miles 
from Rochester, Mn.  I spoke to placement last year verfying a rumor 
about Microsoft hiring their students and it was true.  Many of the 
kids work on AS/400 project teams.  Unfortunately, I don't think this 
is a big group.  Winona State University in Minnesota was also given 
AS/400's but their ciriculum had very little RPG and the 2 kids I 
interviewed who had programming on the AS/400 did not have a clue 
what CL was.  It is obvious that some money needs to be spent 
developing college courses then encourage the kids to take them.
