The only way the AS will see a host name for a remote host is if it has a method of crossing the remote hosts IP address to a host name. This can happen 1 of two ways. The remote host is in the HOSTS file on the AS/400 or there is a DNS entry for it in a DNS server about which the AS/400 knows.
