At the moment we are on a model F35 AS/400; but, like you, we too are waiting on our new RISC box at V3R7.  I witnessed a RISC box at V3R7 in action a week or so ago and I believe you are probably correct in your assumption that the Network Neighborhood will work more quickly.  I get about the same response time from the new AS/400 Operations Navigator as I get from Network Neighborhood.  However, Operations Navigator had a good response time on the RISC box.  Anyway, we still have two or three months to go before we make the upgrade; so, I guess I'll just have to live with the slow performance until then.

Yes, have experienced how long it takes to initially access the AS/400
fron Network neighborhood.  I had just chalked it up to the fact we have
a fairly slow (model 200) AS/400.  You don't mention what model you
have.  I presumed it would be reasonable quick on a RISC model at V3R7 -
maybe others can comment on that as our model 400 is on order and won't
be here for a few weeks.
