Or you could make it a little neater by simply preceding the command
message with a special character, preferably one not on the keyboard.
For example JD Edwards uses an initial character of '\' to flag
conversational messages to its standard break message handler. Backslash
is, of course, on PC keyboards though it generally is not on dumb
terminals, which I suppose back in the mists of time is all JDE
considered.
