× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I am with you on this.  So much good stuff goes to the bitbucket. A 
bbs is a lot of work though.  Perhaps we could shareout the work and 
expene though.  A good sysop is ssential, but there are plenty of 
people that can monitor discussins and member's problems, etc. 
Then a little babble could be tolerated,  unabashed VENDOR 
rooms could be created (and maybe they'd pay a bit more than a 
regular user?), and special-problem rooms could carry on-going 
threads.  There are many types of bbs's, but my favorite for this 
sort of project would be like   bbs.isca.uiowa.edu

That, and $1.00 will get you coffee some places.
