>> So my question is: What are DDM files, how do they function, and how does one apply this to run remote commands. << Andre, A DDM file is just a local description that points to a file on a remote system. There's nothing mysterious about CRTDDMF. DDM itself will run over a connection that supports passthrough, so you can use it to debug the connection. All you need to do is vary the line description on. If it's a dial-up connection, the modem should dial as soon as there is traffic for the connection, so it should just be a matter of varying on the line and opening the file. I've not done this precise thing though, so I may be a little off the mark, but this should be pretty close. hth Pete -- - Pete Hall peteh@earth.inwave.com http://www.inwave.com/~peteh/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
