Matthias writes dealing with his RISC upgrade: "It's just that the IBM CE put some doubt in my mind." He is concerned about what he hears on this forum and what his CE is telling him. Let us look at the real question. A CE has been trained to work on hardware. They are very good most of the time doing that. They were given 1 weeks training about migrating to RISC. Now the questions. Does a one week training course means that they know all about the 400? Would you be able to learn all about SAVE/RESTORE, journals, receiver, ILE . . . in one week? I have been working on this operating system since '82 and I do not feel that I know all there is. In fact, if I know 1% I'm lucky. How can a CE with a weeks training know all there is. Al gave good advice. Peter H. O'Connor PAE 7 Riverway Rd.
