Interesting then, that our Ethernet controller and device were set to ONLINE(*YES), and the Token Ring controller and device were ONLINE(*NO) when we were having this problem. I set them to ONLINE(*YES) and the problem was fixed. A STRTCP was *not* bringing the interface up automatically, that's what this whole thread was about...
