I'd be interested on an update on this as well.  We attempted to use it some
time ago, but received only cryptic "RI failed" messages (no file, no key, no
nothing).  We scrapped RI due to the fact that it was unusable in our
environment with those messages.  Has it gotten better?

Oh YEAH!  Ask ANYONE from SSA!  Seems that single-record FETCH's can be an
improvement on UNIX boxes -- not so on the AS/400.  Use SQL for varied search
parameters against files with less than 200K records (on a CISC box, RISC
should support more).  Record-level stuff is still better off with a CHAIN.
