Java, HTML, & other funny acronyms -- MIDRANGE-L

OK, someday someone is gonna tell me to "web
enable" my AS/400 apps.  Could somebody direct
me to a source of good basic information?  I know,
or at least I think I know, that Java is supposed to
be the all hottest thing today, having superceded
(supplanted? extended?) HTML as THE way to
develop web apps...but that pretty much exhausts
my knowledege.  Any thoughts/pointers?
