Here's a simple and effective method for OPM programs (as usual, things
are a little more complicated with ILE):

1. Send a message to your caller:

SNDPGMMSG MSG('Who are you?')
          TOPGMQ(*PRV (*))
          MSGTYPE(*INFO)
          KEYVAR(&KEYVAR)

2. Retrieve the message you just sent:

RCVMSG MSGKEY(&KEYVAR)
       SENDER(&SENDER)
       SENDERFMT(*SHORT)

3. Inspect the SENDER structure for the name of your caller (who you
sent the message to):

CHGVAR VAR(&CALLER)
       VALUE(%SST(&SENDER 56 10))

Subject: Call Stack API

Can anyone help me?

I need to know in a program(CL) what program called it.

    PGM_A calls PGM_B
in PGM_B, I need to know that PGM_A called it.
    PGM_B is a CL program.

Is there an API that retreives a jobs call stack?

Thank You
Joe
