PHIL HALL @ SSA 07/02/97 09:16 AM Joe, >> I need to know in a program(CL) what program called it. >> >> PGM_A calls PGM_B >> in PGM_B, I need to know that PGM_A called it. >> PGM_B is a CL program. >> >>Is there an API that retreives a jobs call stack? There is, but the QSYSINC doesn't have an #include/\\COPY file for it :-( The other problem is that at sevlvl 40 and above, you will not get the names of any programs in the call stack that are system state/domain. If you know the name of the PGM_A (ie you're looking for a specific named program from within PGM_B) using the MI instruction fndrinvn (find relative invocation number) to look for PGM_A will work I have an example ILE/C program that will do this, I can try and port it to ILE/RPG or ILE/CL if intrest is high enough...
