Thanks to everyone for all of the help. I have made great progress on this. As you can all no doubt tell, I have just discovered the external data structure and the user data area. This looks to me like the perfect way to save dafault settings for users, so the settings always come back as the last settings used. Probably not a great discovery here, but I am happy for this week.
