Try setting the System Value QDEVRCYACN to *DSCMSG.  If it is currently
at *ENDJOB or *ENDJOBNOLIST everytime there is a device error on the
device (ie when the link drops), your session will be signed off.  With
the value changed to *DSCMSG, your session will be disconnected.  To
reconnect, all you need to do is sign back on at the SAME workstation
with the SAME userid, and your session will be as you left it. 

 You might also want to make sure that the value of QDSCJOBITV is set
to  a value other than *NONE (perhaps 120 minutes), so if you don't sign
back after 2 hours the job is ended.
