That could be.  Most data warehousing applications have tons or redundant
data in then mainly for ease of ad hoc reporting etc.  The BIG difference
(IMHO) between a data warehouse that stores redundant data and a transaction
processing system that does the same is maint.  Remember the data warehouse
(by defn) remains static, so maintaining the file is not an issue.  I would
say this is bad (depending on the amount of redundancy of data) programming
and database design.
