No your not missing something as far as I know.  It's not in the parameters,
and like you, I do it with messages.   It would be nice if the progam name that
caused the trigger to be called was a part of the standard 96 bytes of the
control information.  But its too late now,  I doubt if you will ever see those
96 bytes being changed.  I may be wrong though.
