The system 38 was just office, not office vision. It stored documents in source files. It was an enhanced SEU. Qtxt was its name. You can move them to the AS400 and use SEU to maintain them. Strip out the control codes and transfer them to the PC like any other source file. I believe you can still get QTXT on the AS400. I never liked office vision, but I did like Office, because it was just like SEU. Users in other departments did not like office. We went from office to Word Perfect and then to word. We purchased Office vision for the mail function, but that has been replaced with MS mail (wfwg &/or Win95).
