>I'm attempting to code an embedded SQL select >statement for a cursor by >building the SQL statement, preparing it, and >then opening the associated >cursor. >I keep getting no records returned. The SQL >select looks fine. > EVAL SQLSTR = 'SELECT * FROM AFILE WHERE FLD1 = VALUE1 ORDER BY FLD2, FLD3 With a prepared statement you need to compare your select to be something like select * from filex where field1 = "xxxx". You could also use an unprepared statement and use a host variable with select * from filex where field1 = :rpgfield. To make sure you do not have an error check the field SQLCOD after each SQL statement. If it contains a 0, it worked. If it contains 100, end of file. Other codes need to be looked up in qsqlmsg. Take SQL0 and append the absolute value of the return code for the message ID. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
