AS/400 Administrator / Security Administrator: Excellent opportunity for a professional with the right experience and desire to excel

Primary Purpose:
Seeking an experienced technology professional responsible for managing and supporting our AS/400 environment. Person should be able to perform administrative as well as operational activities on the AS/400 in addition to providing wide area network security for our infrastructure. Big pluses are telecommunications experience or BPCS application knowledge and the ability to perform database administration and application support duties in manufacturing, supply chain management or Finance.

Essential Functions
Manage the operation and system security to ensure applications are available and information is protected according to Service Level Agreements
Run month-end jobs for all production logical partitions
Ensure appropriate backups are made of all iSerioes machines as per the approved schedule and that proper tape rotation and offsite storage location is maintained
Promote development work to production logical partitions once properly approvedSetting up and maintaining development, QA, and support environments
Available for on call rotation coverage Performs disaster recovery tests and security audits in various computing environments (i.e. AS/400, client/server, internet/intranet)Implements and administers information technology auditing policies, procedures and practices. Must be willing to travel to international locations
Must be willing to work weekends to perform needed system maintenance
Knowledge and Experience
7+ years of experience on an iSeries (AS400) Platform 2+ years of security experience working with introduction detection / intrusion detection systems
Bachelors degree with a major in management information systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish language is a plusKnowledge of IT Control requirements associated with Sarbanes-Oxley Act. At least intermediate experience in writing CL Programs and OS command Experience in a logical partition environment Experience in performing both HW and SW upgrades and installs Experience with networking concepts; can configure devices, system to system communication, TCP/IP, ODBC’s and DNS Ability to debug and troubleshoot operating system and application access problems
Must be able to perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Knowledge of BPCS and Smartweb or Showcase is a plus
