Ask them if they are looking for a "junior" or "intermediate" surgeon. Are

As I said in my note to you off-line (I had seen no sign that you had also responded here) - you need to read the post.

The job I mentioned was offering $30 per hour - not $10. I have googled vacancies in the area and for what they are after (2 - 3 years experience) it looks to be well in range of the other job offers.

As to your idea that $60K is a good intermediate position, it depends
entirely on where you have to live. An intermediate position should be
someone with what, at least five years experience, right? That level of
experience ought to afford you at least a house. Well, if you're living in
San Francisco, I can tell you that $60K a year isn't going to do that.

See my note above Joe. They classify it as a minimum of 2 - 3 years. From what I know of the area $60K is an OK starting salary for the area. In case anyone here is actually looking for a job - the $60K is a start point which could rise fairly rapidly. Customer has been burned by too many people who claimed experience that they didn't have and so wants to know what they are getting before upping the ante.

What's really funny is that if American companies allowed American workers
to telecommute and live in locations of their choice, we'd have less
pollution, less oil use, and people could live in lower cost-of- living areas
and take lower-paying positions. But no, that's not acceptable. You have
to drive into work and sit in your cubicle all day.

Agreed 100%.
