Just "pointing out", Kevin? That's all, is it? :-) I didn't know that today's "season's festivities" consisted of the pagan celebration of the rebirth of the sun? What is -your- "reason for the season"? The commercialization is not good, and the loss to the culture of the "reason for the season". And the cultural memory loss of But I am glad that in this time of year some people do celebrate both/either (1) "It's a Wonderful Life", (2) giving in general, or (3) the greatest gift ever given. And that (4) it's a chance to remember who Saint Nicholas really was, the guy who started the gift-giving idea in the first place by observing the SOn's birth with anonymous gifts for poor children left at their doorstep.
