I agree, let's get back to the real "reason for the season". It's the pagan celebration of the re-birth of the sun. Happy Yule season, everyone.

Rob-
What choice do any of us have these days?

And, for that matter, it really doesn't matter WHERE WE shop now! Practically ALL toys (and, for that matter, most other consumer goods purchased here in the USA) are now made in Chinese sweatshops. I just did a Google search on "toy factories sweatshops china" and got over 72,000 hits...

I'd also advise people to quit getting so caught up in the commercialization of Christmas...
It's the spirit of giving, not the gift, that counts most...

RE: Lest ye get too complacent

Don't put words in my mouth, Eduard. My position on the issue has been
clearly stated over the years: foreign workers should not be allowed to
take
jobs for which there are qualified Americans, and right now there are
plenty
of qualified Americans willing to work in high-tech jobs. The problem is
not qualification, it's pay scale; companies would rather higher low-cost
visa workers than higher-priced American workers. I don't want companies
to
bring low-cost foreign workers into the country to supplant American jobs.

So 'Bill' is opening the door for me, and 'Joe' wants it to stay closed.
Would I like the Chicago wether??
Or better to reside under my personal palm tree and do the same work??
Ok, Ok, I'm not that cheap that 'Bill' want to hire me (Or just not
that
good).
