Thanks Keith; that is more clear. Of course, if Emil has the CRTMIPGM command installed, it's easier to do it that way.

However! I remember now that Leif's original CRTMIPGM did not allow for those OPTION() parameters to be changed; it was very basic. I used a different command that was created by a fellow whose name escapes me for the moment; it was published in iSeriesNetwork on the Web, I believe. It allows the User to change any of the OPTION() values whenever the command is prompted. Of course, the "back end" is different too (uses RPG rather than MI to call the QPRCRTPM Api). I have a copy of it if Emil is interested. A copy *somewhere* -- I justed upgraded to a new Windows computer and it is missing some things. Anyway, the important thing is to be able to get the API to spit out a translation diagnostic listing; absolutely essential. Because you will *always* get the translation errors on first-time compiles. Even Leif said he did!

I'm only guessing as to which "frontend" program is being used.
