Does anyone know how to calculate the total size of an iseries machine index. There are a number of algorithms regarding index size but I'm curious because my total index size seems to be off by a factor of 1-2 based on data and key portion sizes. Allowing for a built in buffer which I think is 20480 and boundary alingments, key overhead, the resulting index size after entry insertion is still pretty large. The 20480 is the built in size used by IBM with the legal QUSCRTUI api.
