Access Spool File

Hi, 

can someone tell me if I've another possibility how can I access a
Spoolfile. I mean, when I'm not wrong all Spoolfiles are in QSPL
library, for every Spoolfile will be created a separated member...? The
point is only that, I don't know how to logically associate Spool
name/User/Job/Number/Spl.number with the member? 
Is there another possibility how to access a spool file as use the APIs
which put the spool file in user space? Or a common question, is there
somewhere a documentation how can I manipulate a spoolfile, or how can I
learn the intern structures etc.
