Not any I have seen. I have done this on about 30 boxes. That does not mean
it was not done.

I understand that somewhere between V1 and V4 IBM changed
the QSECOFR default password to some "random" sequence of
characters.

| This can happen when profiles are restored, and the rstaut
is run. I know I
| have knocked myself out several time. You think I would
learn.
|
| On the from panel set the IPL to manual then IPL the
machine. When the DST
| screen comes up, one of the sub options is reset system
password next time.
| This resets the password to the origional shipped
password. usually QSECOFR.
|
| There is a different option to work with dst profiles.
This is different
| from the system default password.
|
|
| IPL the computer the rest of the way, Then change QSECOFR
password to what
| you want.
|
| Now change the IPL mode to normal.
|
| Hope this helps.

| This sounds amazing like someone trying to hack into the
system. Give it
