> Care to show how you figured that out? (1) I ran STRSQL. (2) I typed CREATE LOBFILE, etc. (3) I typed SELECT LOBFILE, etc. to open the file. (4) While the file was open, I pressed ATTN key to get a command line. (5) I ran my explorer program that walks the chain of open data paths in my job's QDMCQ---the anchor to QDMCQ is at BASPCO POS(H"21")---and displayed the live UFCB that STRSQL, SELECT was using. (6) I analyzed the UFCB variable area for stuff, and noticed SQL generated a UFCB with about a dozen variable parameters, including parameter values 165, 166, and 167. (7) I tested a little MI UFCB program and determined 165 allows open with user data types, 166 allows open with datalinks, 167 allows open with CLOBs.
