You can do a search on the Midrange-L archive for TNAPI. This is a telnet API posted by Albert York and allows you to submit a batch job to run interactive applications. All the inputs (including cursor position and function keys) are passed to the API and it returns the response from the telnet server. However, since it starts a telnet session, even if it's in batch, will use just the same amount of interactive CPW. I don't really know if what you want is doable. In the end, what is the definition of the interactive workload : " In general, interactive workloads all have the characteristic of a 5250 workstation communications path somewhere within the workload".
