Hi Mark, I wanted to set the TOD for machine time syncronization purposes. Currently I'm changing the sysval, but wanted to use the higher resolution TOD/DTS format. Problem: I'm trying to use a SNTP client (MSNTP). It uses the gettimeofday/settimeofday/adjtime functions. These have the appropriate resolution but apparently they're implimented as part of a "software" clock and don't affect the machine clock. This clock instead uses/modifies an "internal" offset to machine TOD. Since most system time is derived from the machine clock, this "software" clock is not that useful outside it's own environment. V4R2 introduced a couple of nice functions to convert between timeval and _MI_Time formats (Qp0zCvtToTimeval and Qp0zCvtToMITime). I figured to use them to syncronize the machine TOD with the software clock. Seems a MODTOD could have been introduced when MODMATR was blocked. Another alternative might be to have a function to simply syncronize the machine TOD to the "software clock".
