Simon, Thank you for the additional information about types and subtypes. Since I just wanted to materialize an object or space pointer it seems that internal object types are not involved. Actually I just wanted to get the object name of the user space used by the SEU exit program since I did not want to hard code it in the exit program. So I decided to write a little RPG function f_matObjPtr() to do that job. By the way do you know what is at position 21-30 in the generalized object name of the _Gen_Mat_ID_T structure?
