This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Contrary to the restrictions on writing to the PGAS, an MI pgm can write directly to the associated space of an index ( INAS ). I use the following code to write to the INAS: DCL SYSPTR spIdx AUTO ; DCL SPCPTR pInas AUTO : DCL DD Inas CHAR(2000) BAS(pInas) ; SETSPPFP pInas, spIdx ; CPYBLA Inas, 'data to write to associated space of the index' ; I intend to store the rcdfmt and key definition of the index in the associated space. A generic cmd like CPYUSRIDX or PRTUSRIDX cmd will then be able to access the fields of the index. Any problems with this? It works at security level 40. Since this unaudited access to the INAS is allowed while unaudited access to the PGAS is not, is this an indication that OS400 does not use the INAS of its indexes? Regards to all, Steve Richter --
