It is just circumventing the software which monitors usage vs licensed limits. So let's say you have some LPP's which are licensed on a concurrent user basis, and OS/400 is enforcing those limits. Along comes a software product which monitors active jobs and flips off a bit used by the license manager to count concurrent users, and now you can have unlimited concurrent users. What is the difference between that and Fast400 from IBM's perspective? You are circumventing licensed usage constraints, not "tuning" the system. Or so it seems to me. I'm with Gary on this one.
