Yes, I know how to use Exception Monitors, but this is like
"filtering junk mail". :)

I want to avoid the exception being sent, not trap it when it's received.
That is, I want to know if MATPTR is possible, *before* I try, and just
skip that entry if the pointer isn't available to my program.

Is that possible?
