thanks njal and gene, Interesting that a save file is based on a dump space. Is saving to tape based on the object dumping process also? Only diff being that the dump space object is written to tape? The actual materializing of the object and waiting on the dtaq for the completion of the dump, is there an mi opcode for that? I am guessing that the s/38 opcodes are used to dump your own objects, not for dumping any system objects. a dump space is a string of materialized/dumped objects? Does the actual materialization occur in a separate job? Any security considerations if this is the case? thanks again, Steve -----Original Message----- From: Njål Fisketjøn <n.f@figu.no> To: MI400@midrange.com <MI400@midrange.com> Date: Monday, June 25, 2001 7:32 PM Subject: RE: save files >Steve Richter wrote: > >> are these mi op codes?
