From: Richard Jackson <richardjackson@richardjackson.net> > In my experience, > putting a monitor in place has never prevent the message from writing to the > log Ah, but Richard, using a compare value of x'00000000' instead of "MCH" *does* prevents the joblog entry, so I have in a sense answered by own question. I wanted to see if I had overlooked some trivial detail. Maybe some of the MI-heavies on this list would know? I got some insightful clues from Dave. In another thread on another list there was a discussion about the "openness" or "closedness" of the AS/400. The question in the present thread shows how closed the AS/400 really is. Something as fundamental as handling events and exceptions is shrouded (clouded?) in a deep fog. sigh +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
