Yes, a parameter identification routine exists. I have the program. I'll try to publish it soon. It works on OPM/ILE programs and ILE service programs, provided the caller has at least *USE authority to the target program and library, the target program is in user domain, and the target program is observable (has creation data). This is from a subset of my program that regenerates an MI source member from an observable program object, and puts symbol names from the symbol table into correct places in the MI source. By the way it's interesting to run it over third party software. It fails of course over OS/400 because that comes with no observability. However some time ago (V2R1, I think) the OS/400 did come with at least one observable program: the program that crunched, folded, and encrypted passwords and stuffed them into QSYUPTBL. Ever since V2R1 we've puzzled why, why did they ship observability on that program. The same crunch-fold-encrypt algorithm is still used in V4R4. +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
