Prompt for value would not be enabled for a Data Generation Program since this program runs under the covers and during the data refresh.

The "Create Host Program Parameter" for the Data Generation Program in the Relationship Action is not allowing me to specify "Prompt for value". I need to be able to do this but it's greyed out. Is this a bug?

Look into the Relationship Program Action within Integrator. It is where you have a relationship to a file that you will create in QTEMP. You define the name of the host program on the relationship that will populate the file in QTEMP. The IDF will copy the file with a unique name to a library accessible by the data connection and navigate to that instance of the file.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Integrator work file question...
Hi all,
In Enterprise Integrator I am creating a business object from a temporary file. Ordinarily I'd create the file in QTEMP but the "multiple processes behind the curtain" problem negates that option.
The only other option I can think of is to create the work file records with a User ID stamp and then have the user work with a subset of the records with their own User ID. The problem is I hate this solution. I would prefer the user NOT have to remember to always create any additional subsets with a clause to only select their own user ID.
Am I thinking about this wrong? Is there another clever solution I haven't thought of?
Thank you.
