Hi Roger

Are you implementing CRMi or migrating from another CRM package. There can be different criteria you might have to look into. We did an Act to CRMi migration with different kinds of data. if interested pls contact offline and we can share some experience.

Thank you.

subject: [MAPICS-L] Item Status

We're currently running release 6 but are upgrading to release 9 as we speak. We would like to be able to recieve material and have it book to inventroy GL accounts but remain in a quarentine status where it cannot be issued or seen by MRP until it's been approved. Also, we want to be able to place this material in a location where approved material is stored. We have a visual system to distinguish the approved from the non-approved material. We don't have the space to create a location specifically for quarentine items nor do we want to create a duplicate location for every possible location where we might put this material. What would be ideal is to be able to put the items lots into a "Q" status. When the material is approved it could move to an "A" status.

We're handling this today using multiple warehouses. We created a "Q" warehouse for each of our production plants. When material is recieved into the production plants a trigger fires moving the material to the "Q" warehouse. Once the item has been inspected and approved the material is moved into the production warehouse. There are many disadvantages to this process. It's not efficent, you have to maintain multiple warehouses, you loose tracking information (PO), and other things.

Does anyone out there have a solution to this issue? We would like to keep it all in one warehouse.

Release 9 now has a location status that would be useful but it's not enough.

Roger
We are running 7.8 . We have installed and after much work, now have CRM
up and running.
There is a series of PTF's that you need to applied.
Then you go into Link Manger and flick the switch. There should be
instructions on how to do the install
in the knowledge base on the support website.

If you have any questions, you may contact me online.

You can install CRMi though Link Manager - in the Environment object, on the Applications tab, select CRMi -> Maintain to mark the app as installed.

Thx,
Christophe.

subject: [MAPICS-L] MMA

Since MMA is not being supported in XA version 9 has anyone found a product that might be able to do something similar that you purchased vs. developing from scratch? Our users use this product extensively. The speed and flexibility of MMA is great compared to Enterprise Integrator.

Thanks for any advise.
