Dave L. mentioned the main issue - XA does a clean up as a part of the backup procedure. I wrote my own "copy disk backup to tape" procedure that we run after the XA backups are done, and you could use that and easily add your other backups to it. We initially wrote the XA backups to one tape drive, and the other backups to a separate (capacity constraints on the old system), but they have been consolidated now that the company has a much larger capacity drive.
You could easily change the ENDOPT on the last line to *LEAVE and add your other libraries.
