I'm with Pete O. on this one. I think you would find it a lot cleaner to have a separate environment (sharing the AMALIBx). Simpler on security, and all around easier to manage. And you already know how to manage multiple environments. At my prior employer, for a couple years we added a product line that was run separate from the rest of the company (that area ran as a demand-flow shop, unlike the rest of the plant), and it was a lot easier to keep things separate with two separate environments. It was easier for the accounting function also.
We looked hard at setting up a separate company, but decided it would be harder with all the reporting changes and all - the hundreds of queries and such were all done assuming company 01. We didn't want to have to deal with all that - separate data libraries were easier to manage.
