We use OFFSHIP at release 7. It's in download SH75812.

Eric (and all),

Doesn't the Offline Shipping Enhancement work in R7? My former employer
uses that exclusively, they don't EVER access Pick/Pack/Ship. I'm
looking at assisting them in an R6 to R7 upgrade (if it gets approved).
Losing OFFSHIP would NOT be a good thing!

David,
I can only think that the value is that you've paid for this version
with
your annual support and, when and if you are ready to use the advanced
Browser applications, you can install them at that time. Just because
you
would be on R7, does not mean that you have to purchase any additional
applications. What you are basically doing is positioning yourself in
the
event that you do want to use the advanced applications. If you wait
too
long and they complete migrate the applications to Browser, you
conversion
cost will only be more due to higher programming costs. I compare this
to
companies that are still running S36 code - how many of us are left that
can
even read that code?

The challenge for most of my clients (I am an independent like Kevin) is
COM. They are all using the original Pick/Pack/Ship function - not the
Shipping Workbench. In R7, that is the only way to process shipments.
Some
of those screens have been modified for using barcoding along with user
exits for interfacing Manhattan's Logistics Pro/TE. The review,
re-modification and testing is what will take the most time. They do
not
use any of the advanced Browser applications.

We are currently at R6 and have seen very little value to migrating to
R7. I'd be thrilled for someone who has actually had to justify the
upgrade to walk me thru their thought process for upgrading to R7.
It's
just not clear to me.....
