I've had experience last year where the client PC "hung" during
posting and an odd quantity got into the IM transaction.
If all of the transactions are accounted for, then it is one of the
"gremlins in the machine"

Are you saying you have IMHIST records, but they don't explain the
amount, or are you saying you don't have IMHIST records so you can't
tell?
Other trans that affect component quantities on MO's
RC Return to stock (keyed as a negative) SM of the parent and the
quantity of the item was not issued and the SM was a weird number.

Eric,
Have you checked all issue transactions like IAs?

Duh...but it was only a 1 - not 4695.000
Here is what I see in MO History:
---------Quantities--------
Required 1.000
Adj Qty Per 1.000
Std Qty Per 1.000
Total Issued 4695.000
Period Issued .000
Scrapped .000
Returned .000

Eric,
Check the Standard Batch Size for the Finished item.
Many users mistake this field for Standard Lot Size.
If the Standard Batch Size is not equal to 1 then the number is
multiplying each component.

To the list,
I have a customer that is reworking an item. The quantity
required on the item being reworked is 1.000. However, when I
look into MO History the total quantity issued is in the thousands
- when it is only one. The components used were all either IU or
IP and there is no IMHIST data to backup the large issued quantity
(in the thousands). Any ideas?
Eric
