Raymond:
The key to making the consigned inventory work when you have little or no
visibility of the inventory is not the ERP system. It is getting EDI point
of sale transactions from the consignee. Don't try it without that data.
I've tried to manage consigned inventory with no input from the retailer
once before with no success. It wasn't until we required the POS data that
we came even close to an accurate BOH - and even then it required regular
on-site audits.

Hello Group.....
We are pursuing the business of Consignment Inventory Sales to large
retailers. Just want to know if anyone using Infor XA Rel6 or 7.8 has
any experience in COM (Invoicing) with consignment shipments. The
requirement from the customer is to EDI .01 cent invoice for products
yet the (our) inventory would only be a warehouse transfer from our dock
to customer warehouse location.
This customer may also require an ASN as he does today. So what we will
have is just inventory movement within XA that generates an ASN, Dummy
.01 invoice for customer records. Customer will pay when product moves
from his store location. In other words we must maintain our inventory
at his physical location without any visibility and only rely on the
customer records for inventory on hand qty's yet provide customer with
ASN, and dummy invoice. We just not sure how we can do this with in XA
rel 6 or 7.8 (if at all) without modification and our policy is no
modification just user exits.
Our products are furniture, Grills, tables, chairs, etc. Any comments
or help is appreciated.
