I can't answer the simulation question, but you can have multiple
instances (environments) of R6 browser open at the same time.

When you are at the browser sign on screen:
1. Hold down CTRL key and click on "Help" button.
2. Click check box for "Allow multi .exe" under "translation options".
3. Click "update".
4. Sign on as usual
5. Sign on again for 2nd environment

Environment IDs (MM, TT, ...) will display in ( ) for each open window.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] cost simulations

Is anyone successfully using the simulation site in EPDM to perform cost
simulations? We are looking for the best way to make changes to
routings-run the cost roll to see the impact -without changing the
actual item routing until approval is given. We are performing the
changes on multiple components of an assembly and looking at the impact
on the entire assembly. We have not come up with an efficient way of
doing this-any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I thought of refreshing test environment weekly-allowing the changes to
be made in the test-then making the changes to the live. Still seems
cumbersome to me-especially since you can only have one instance of the
Mapics Browser open at a time. (unless I'm missing something?)

We are at XA Rel 6 with the Essentials. How are others coping with
this?

Thanks!
