Bob,

I tried your suggestion. I took the quantity field (floating decimal),
multipled by 1 and set the result to be 7.2.

 Field Expression Column Heading Len
 Dec
 TOTAL itqty * 1 total
    7 2

Here's the result

               Transaction Qty total
000001 1.000000000000000E+000 10000.00E-004

Hi Mike,
I'm not exactly sure what you are defining as a floating point decimal,
using the Define result fields, create a new field by multiplying the
floater field by 1 (which will not change the value, and define the
created field with 7 and 2 decimals.

Subject
[MAPICS-L] AS400 Query and floating point decimal field

I am writing an AS400 query. One of the fields is a floating point
decimal. How would I convert this floating point field to a regular
decimal (7.2. numeric)? The report writing tool is AS400 query.

TIA
