Are you looking for a portable reader or a fixed reader? Typically with this
type of matrix code, an area imager works best.  Please feel free to contact
me off line and I will be glad to help you find the right reader

Hello again!  I know this might be a bit off track - but I can't think of 
a better group to ask!

We have begun marking our parts with 2d Data Matrix bar codes, however 
they are the dot-peen type.

This means our bar codes look like this:

My question is if any of you have had any success finding a reader for the 
dot peen variety?
We've tried two that work on the high contrast version, but not the 
dot-peen type.
