I think that one of my customers is on a 445 and has been for years. The
thing to really watch out for when running this instead of the straight
calendar month is having your users know which period they are processing.
They are still running GL using 12 months but end their months on the
specific Friday that matches the 445.

What we had to do in their shipping department (since they process the
shipment and invoice) was to modify the Invoice screen that prompts for the
date and period to block them from keying anything. Instead the program
picks up a single record that stores the current year and period. This file
gets updated automatically by the COM Monthend closing. We are only a
single company operation but if we were multiple company with different
closes the file may need the company number also.

I would avoid switching to 13 period if you can since 13 period accounting
limits the history that you can keep; the periods into the next year you can
process; etc. This is because 13 period accounting does not use the CYY
field - only the period.
